Welcome to Spring, the time of re-birth and rejuvenation--the perfect opportunity to learn about Ayurveda, the Indian holistic medical system and sister science of Yoga. Ayurveda was first documented in the Vedas around 5,000 years ago and explains how our interrelationship with nature’s cycles, rhythms and patterns affect our daily lives, and how by making simple lifestyle changes can bring balance, health & harmony.
We will cover the history of Ayurveda and its basic principles which are based in the five elements found in our universe and determine our individual constitutions. During this workshop, you will learn simple preventative and holistic approaches to health through proper diet, daily practices and herbal remedies which Ayurveda administers through the five senses and their associated therapies. You will have the opportunity to take a dosha test and have your pulse diagnosis taken. Jeff will create some delicious Ayurvedic food and beverages for you to sample, and provide you with easy recipes you can recreate for yourself in your own kitchen.
