Chronic pain and discomfort in the lower back affects up to half of Americans over 25 years old and is often linked to a sedentary lifestyle, arthritis, or injuries resulting from improper alignment. An attentive and stimulating yoga practice utilizing B.K.S. Iyengar’s use of props can help release tension, make space in the joints, increase circulation and decrease inflammation resulting in improvement of the lower back condition. In this workshop, students will be introduced to postures that create mobility and stability in the legs, hips, and abdomen in order to release pressure and strain in the lower back.
